Lukwago’s testimony is expected to lead to the rounding up of the hearing that has been dominated with dramatic scenes and flaring tempers.

He denies having fallen short of convening meetings and further maintains that the tribunal was set up to bring down his Mayorship by the ruling government.

The KCCA Executive Director, Jennifer Musisi, was also presented as a witness to pin Lukwago.

However, during the cross examination, majority of witnesses excited the tribunal by giving contradictory testimonies. Some spoke out of ignorance.

Tumwebaze said the tribunal was set up pursuant to section 12 of the Kampala Capital City Act, 2010, and after due consultations with the Attorney General and Chief Justice of Uganda to inquire into the allegations against the Lord Mayor.

Hon. Lady Justice Catherine Bamugemereire is chairing the hearing comprising Mrs. J.A Ocaya Lakidi and Mr Alfred Okello Oryem as members.

The report is expected next month.
