visit this site geneva; font-size: small;”>The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Idi Ibin Ssenkumbi says this is aimed at creating space for the construction of the Internal Affairs, the Justice Law and Order Sector building as well as the Police Headquarters.

“There’s no any other reason as to why we are moving our officers to Busunjju police barracks, besides the constructions are to commence soon in this area,” he said.

Speaking to Chimpreports on Tuesday morning, Ssenkumbi said: “The number of our officers and their families in this barracks does not tally with the space in the barracks, yet there’s enough space at Busunjju.”

He adds that all those affected especially the school going children of officers will be catered for.

“A bus has been provided to ferry them from Busunjju to Kampala city on police’s cost, every morning and evening till the school term ends,” he says.

However, there are reports that the shift may have been based on the recent demonstrations of policemen’s wives over delay of salary to their husbands and poor housing conditions in the barracks.
