“We suspect that these people have been enjoying police benefits and services yet they don’t serve in the police neither do they have any relation to the officers,” says Ssenkumbi.

The suspects are currently being detained at Jinja road police station and will be charged accordingly.

“This may have been a weakness in the barracks administration, so whoever got involved in helping these people to access police facilities will be arrested and charged as well,” adds Ssenkumbi.

The development comes against the backdrop of the cash-strapped Police’s decision to provide food rations to cops as they wait for their delayed salaries.
