This follows a robbery incident were a group of thieves broke into a shop on the 7th Street Industrial Area, Kampala where iron sheet bundles and other property was stolen.

A guard was killed during the robbery.

Kampala East police commander, Musa Nabende, has ordered Mugoya to first step down from his position as investigations into what his employees allege are carried out.

“If found guilty, he will be charged accordingly,” said Nabende.

Meanwhile, the situation was later put under control by anti-riot police, with the guards resuming their normal routine.

Police say poor remuneration and delayed salaries are some of the reasons why private security guards continue to engage in acts of robbery and murder.
