Abege was for the better part of last season unproductive due to injuries.
Team captain, Nestroy Kizito, and Noah Ssemakula are some of the players who didn’t attend today’s training.
Coach Alex Isabirye confirmed informing all the players about the training schedule.
Players Denis Guma, Savio Kabugo and Ali Kimera are expected to join the team later next week after the Uganda Cranes encounter with Taifa Stars of Tanzania in the CHAN qualifier this Saturday.
Guma and Savio featured for Cranes in the first leg in Tanzania for 90 minutes.
However, Savio’s appearance is doubtful due to an injury.
Victoria University, who are the Uganda Cup winners, will represent the country in CAF Champions league next year.
