The District Police Commander, Edson Muhangi, identified the suspects as Edward Barinabo, Paul Kato, Philip Tindamanyire, John Magezi, Fred Byamugisha and Crew Nuwagaba.
Others are Geoffrey Mutale, Dismus Twesigye, Martin Ariho and Peter Magara; all residents of the same area.
Muhangi said the deceased was waylaid on his way from a nearby local bar in Kifunjo Trading Center.
“It was a terrifying spectacle. The man was slaughtered like a goat. The thugs separated his head from the body using a panga,” said Muhangi.
It is alleged the incident occurred on Thursday night.
Muhangi told Chimpreports: “All the suspects are relatives of the deceased who have been having family wrangles, saying that they did not want Murengyeza to be the family heir.”
The incident comes against the backdrop of the murder of a one Apollo Ndihukire on Tuesday night in Kyumbugu village in Mukono parish, Kayonza sub-county.
Police also arrested six people in connection to this murder, bringing the number of people killed in a spate of three days to two.
Muhangi condemned the acts of murder which are steadily increasing in the area, adding, police will continue to apprehend those involved.
He appealed to those who are always aggrieved to always sort matters through legal means.
Bigambo is survived by a wife and one child.
