Lameka Kigozi, the Central East Police spokesperson told Chimpreports on Tuesday that the deceased, Daniel Ssebaduka, 28, a boda boda cyclist of motorcycle registration number UDV 082D at Kasana Sun stage was hired by a passenger who could have stabbed him to death.
“The passenger stopped Ssebaduka as they were approaching the school and then a colleague came from the near-by bush with a panga and stabbed him several times leaving him lying in the pool of blood,” narrated Kigozi.
Kigozi said Ssebaduka was found by a certain Samaritan who called police and was rushed to Kiwoko hospital where he is now undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, the two suspects are still detained at the police station to help in the investigation.
“This is because they were near where the cyclist was attacked and are suspected to have heard what transpired,” explained Kigozi.
Although such cases had reduced in the region, Kigozi called upon the area residents to step up vigilance and security in the area.
The incident raises fresh fears about the growing levels of insecurity in the central region. Scores have in recent months been stabbed to death of cold blood murders.
