Rwanda, Burkina Faso Tighten Military Relations

The trip included visits to various institutions including Zigama CSS Military Medical Insurance as well as training schools.

Brig Traore also shared his intention to learn from the comprehensive social programs that benefit both the military and their families.

During their visit, the team also paid a courtesy call to Chief of Defense Staff Patrick Nyamvumba and Minister of Defense James Kabarebe.

“I am leading at this moment a delegation from Burkina Faso Armed Forces Headquarters. The visit is aimed at strengthening ties in defence cooperation between Defence Forces of the two Countries. We have been received this morning by the Chief of Defence Staff and also by the Minister of Defence, our discussions focused on cooperation between the two Defence Forces”, explained Brig.Gen. Honoré Traore.

He revealed that the Burkina Faso delegation is interested on defence cooperation focusing on capacity building of both Defence Institutions. “We are interested at learning about Rwanda Military Academies, training schools, Rwandan experience in Peace Keeping Operations.”

According to Brig Traore, neither language nor distance should constitute an obstacle to defence cooperation of the two Sister Countries.

He added that there are cordial relations between the two Head of States, between Burkina Faso and Rwanda.
