According to the Executive Director of KCCA, Jennifer Musisi Ssemakula, the five ambulances are worth Shs1bn.
She told journalists at KCCA in Kampala on Monday that the authority would give its all to improve emergency responses to unforeseen disasters.
The Minister for Kampala, Frank Tumwebaze was present during the handover of the ambulances to the respective councilors for the above divisions.
He called upon all the elected leaders of KCCA to be “cooperative and support the delivery of health services without bringing in politics.
The five ambulances are allocated to Lubaga, Kawempe, Nakawa, Makindye and the Central division
Kawempe Division Councillor, Madina Nsereko, said the ambulances were timely and would facilitate emergency responses.
“If we had these vehicles we would have saved lives of many during the fire incident in Namungona on Saturday,” said Madina.
