However, Seninde has told the area residents not to worry about the land issues.

“The land law limits the land owner from dismissing occupants who have spent a long period on that land paying well the annual tenancy fee, so no one should be worried,” she said.

Addressing the residents at Kiganda play ground, Seninde assured them that she will be the mediator between them and the true owner of the land and will inform them of anything so as to stay prepared.

However, this meeting that started peacefully did not end as it intended because the residents decided to turn violent after one of them asked a question which they considered unfair and wanted to beat him up.

ASP Wilson Mugume, officer in charge at Kiganda police post confirmed to Chimpreports that three people whom they suspected of throwing stones to police men have been arrested.

Meanwhile, Kiganda residents say land wrangles have existed for a long time and they originated from the confusion about the true owner of the land who has the power to develop it.
