Mandela Still Critical As Zuma Cancels Mozambique Trip

South Africa presidency said in a statement that Zuma has decided to cancel his visit to Maputo, Mozambique where he was due to attend the SADC Regional Summit on Infrastructure Investment on Thursday.

“He reiterated his gratitude on behalf of government, to all South Africans who continue to support the Madiba family,” the statement read in part.

It is understood Mandela, 94, is on life support.

Hundreds of South Africans lit candles outside the hospital where Mandela is being hospitalized.

Considered the founding father of South Africa’s multiracial democracy, Mandela has been admitted at Pretoria Hospital since June 8 for a recurring lung infection.

But recent media reports of his deteriorating condition have put the nation over the edge, with many fearing for the worst.
