Rugunda was speaking at the launch of the National Lab Technical Committee, which will be headed by Dr. Ruth Aceng, at the Ministry headquarters in Kampala on Tuesday.
Rugunda thanked various stakeholders especially religious leaders who “have done a lot in fighting the malaria epidemic.”
The Minister said the committee will work hard to improve the conditions of laboratories in Uganda.
“Treated mosquito nets have done a lot in reducing the spread of malaria in the country. The number of Malaria victims has greatly reduced,” said Rugunda.
The minister also promised to support the uplifting of services in all general hospitals in the country.
