Uganda take on the World Cup 2010 participants at Mandela National Stadium Namboole on Saturday, but Mamelodi Sundowns custodian Onyango missed training on Tuesday morning with an ankle problem, while Etoile Du Sahel’s Okwi has a muscle strain.
The Tunisia based striker attributed the injury to the training surface outside Namboole where training was conducted after the squad was denied access to the main stadium facilities.
“The injury is not serious, it will be fine after a simple massage but this pitch is bad. It is too hard which is a risk to ankle injuries,” Okwi explained after Monday’s session which finished with him as a spectator
Apparently the medical team is positive that by tomorrow he (Okwi) will begin light training,” Katende Malibu the Cranes spokesman revealed to ChimpReports.com.
Both are expected to be back in training with the national squad by Wednesday at the latest.
