Rwanda: Millicom To Invest $80m In Tigo

“We are happy doing business in Rwanda and we would like to make more investments and take advantage of the favorable investment environment. Our clients are demanding and we want to position ourselves to be able to serve them even better,” said Millicom on Sunday.


The Minister of Youth and ICT, Jean Philbert Nsengimana said the announcement by Millicom to invest more money into Tigo is testimony that investors are increasingly having confidence in Rwanda as a good investment destination.


Tigo is a Multi National Telecommunications Company. It boats Mobile Telecommunications Operations in 13 countries; 3 in Central America, 3 in South America and 7 in Africa.

Currently it has 31 million subscribers across all of these regions.


The brand Tigo was created and commercially launched in our Latin American operations in 2004. As a brand in Africa, Tigo has been here since 2006.
