Uganda vs. Liberia, 4pm

Nelson Mandela Stadium, Namboole

Entrance: 12,000/- And 33,000/-

As pool leaders Senegal travel to Angola, Uganda will be hosting Liberia at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Saturday.

Mathematically, even bottom-placed Uganda can make it to the next round but it is the three teams above the Cranes that stand a better chance after three games played.

Cranes coach Milutin Micho Sredojevic has his work cut out as he takes charge of his first competitive game since replacing Bobby Williamson three weeks ago.

Anything but a win coupled with a Senegal victory in Luanda will all but end Uganda’s dream – officially.

“We shall take one game at a time,” Micho told SuperSport.com, adding, “Liberia is on Saturday and I hope our strategy works and we get a result we need.

“Look, we respect them (Liberia) as a team but more than respect them, we must have self-respect and to focus on our self.”

His Liberian counterpart, Frank Nagbe Jericho, expects a tough match and is hoping for a good game.

“Of course we are here to win and we shall set out to play a good game to win,” Jericho told supersport.com.

“It is always natural that a team down will always be more motivated because they want to come back,” added the 59-year-old coach.

Liberia beat Uganda 2-0 in the first leg with Patrick Wleh and Anthony Laffor scoring in Monrovia in March.

“So we expect Uganda to come at us looking for that first goal. We know it won’t be easy but we are ready for the challenge.”

With Denis Onyango suspended for this particular game, Micho is expected to start Abel Dhaira or Robert Odongkara in goal, Henry Kalungi and Andy Mwesigwa, in central defence and Denis Guma and Godfrey Walusimbi the full backs.

Emmanuel Okwi and Geoffrey Massa are expected to lead the line with Geoffrey Kizito assured of holding midfield role. Liberian dangermen Laffor and Wleh should lead the line again for the visitors.
