“I will oppose the joining of South Sudan to the East African Community until all matters related to abusing the fundamental rights of Ugandans living there are handled and resolved by their Government,” he said. Nature

Mbidde alleged that a lot of atrocities have happened to Ugandans in South Sudan especially the businessmen and yet its government has played a deaf ear to all that.

Just last month, two businessmen were attacked and killed by residents of S. Sudan on their way back to Uganda.

He revealed to have written to the EAC Secretary General complaining about the evil committed upon Ugandans living and operating in South Sudan and believes the matter will be handled amicably.

“The Government of Uganda has on many occasions carried out negotiations with the S. Sudan Government to ensure that Ugandans have a safe stay but this is not yielding a lot of results because Ugandans are still harassed and butchered,” said Mbidde.
