40 Companies Compete For Uganda Oil Pipeline Construction

He said more than 40 companies have so far shown interest in constructing the oil refinery which will be given a chance to compete favorably so as to have the best take on the contract.


Lokeris said in case of further discoveries of oil in the country, the refinery will be expanded to suit the amount of oil discovered.


He made the remarks during a press conference at the Ministry’s headquarters in Kampala ahead of an exhibition organized by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development together with AME Trade UK.

It will be the first Mining, Energy, Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition (UMEC) 2013 to take place in Uganda from May 29 to 30 at Serena Hotel in Kampala.


This event is expected to bring together exceptional participants who will contribute to the future of Mining and Energy Business in Uganda.


Lokeris said UMEC will draw expertise from a diverse array of technical and business professionals who will meet key stakeholders in the nascent oil sector.
