Saturday: Nemostars 3-1 Mulago (20-25, 25-12, 25-13, 25-11)


The most awaited fixture of the league so far after the fans decided to start the war of words on different social media platforms. Mulago leaved up to their words on in the first set which they took 25-20. Nemostars not ready for an early upset improved their reception and net defense to silence the noisy Mulago crowd.


It was evident as Nemostars demolished last season’s Serie B first runner up 25-12, 25-13, and 25-11. Louis Mubangizi, George Aporu, Anthony Oleuko, Tom Amou, Okumu Smith and Christopher Ajenawere vital. But Kassim Opejo, Oscar Limtek, Steven Wandera, Eric Ojamuge and Mwangi Zachary were also useful off the bench.

Highlight of the game: Mulago’s Ishak Mugabi’s taking cover from Louis Mubangizi’s attack.


Sunday: Nemostars 3-0 Sport-S (25-15, 25-18, 25-20)


Four-time league winners Sport-S were being looked at as the first side to try and put some resistance, but Nemostars white washed in a game that lasted only 50 minutes. This time around it was George Aporu and Louis Mubangizi who were at the fore front of causing havoc. The two wins stretched Nemostars points to 15 out of five games dropping only one set. They still lie top of the 10 team log

The highlight of the game was beating Sport-S below 20 points in all sets.

Women

Sunday: Nemostars 3-0 Cobap (25-20, 25-22, 25-19), Nemostars 0-3 Sport-S (23-25, 17-25, 13-25)


The ladies were given a task of not only winning their second game of the season but also win two games in a row. The early morning fixture against Cobap yielded some hope after they managed win it in straight sets 25-20, 25-22, 25-19. Edwina Ahamize, Dorcus Nyandiro, Christine Atim, and Brenda Angom were unstoppable.

Libero Christine Birungi was outstanding in this one with her reception and back court cover. The girls failed to replicate their morning performance against Sport-S in the afternoon. Sport-S beat Nemostars 23-25, 17-25, 13-25 to deny the latter a dream weekend

The highlights was against Cobab were captain Edwina served 9 times consecutively, and beating them below 15 in all sets.
