In the proclamation, Hon. Oulanyah said, “the necessary consultation with H.E the President has been carried out and it has been agreed that Parliament be prorogued” with effect from 23 May 2013.

The Second Session of the Ninth Parliament commenced in June 2012.

“The pending business in the House or its committees is saved,” he said.

The third Session is scheduled to commence with an Address on the State of the Nation expected early next month. Before prorogation, Parliament approved Shs 555b as Supplementary Expenditure for the financial year 2012/2013.
