The report read by the Committee Chairperson, Florence Kintu, came out with sixteen resolutions over the crisis in the Kampala Capital City Authority demanding mainly the immediate shift of power to the fountain of honor himself for a quick solution.

The move has met stiff resistance from vocal MPs especially Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda and Latif Ssebagala.

Mukono Municipality MP, Betty Nambooze later accused the committee chairperson and her deputy Raphael Magyezi of Igara west of forging the report without the signatures of other members.

Magyezi denied the allegations, insisting 10 members of the required third of 17 members signed the report.

Magyezi further noted that Nambooze was abroad when the committee concluded its work.

The ruling NRM caucus with a significant power of numbers is this afternoon going to discuss the issue at State House Entebbe.

The meeting is expected to be chaired by the party chairman, President Museveni.

Some MPs who talked to Chimpreports earlier today said the President’s takeover of Kampala “should be the last resort.”
