stomach geneva;”>According to the Southern Province police spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Hubert Gashagaza, Major Sengati was shot on Saturday evening at around 7:30pm.

The unknown gunmen ambushed the retired officer while on his way from work to Kigali.

Sengati has been working as a manager at John Sengati Limited, a mining company dealing in coltan in Rukoma.

“Four people have been arrested in connection with Sengati’s murder and investigations are still underway,” CSP Gashagaza told Chimp Corp Charles Ruzindana in Rwanda, adding that all suspects work with John Sengati Limited.

However, there are reports that Major Sengati was working closely with reengage General Kayumba Nyamwasa, who is in exile in South Africa.

CSP Gashagaza said police was not aware of such information.

“I can’t say he worked with Kayumba because the police didn’t have that information,” he said.

He, however, added that the murder of Major Sengati could be as a result of financial conflicts between him and other company members.
