According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Idi Ibin Ssenkumbi, police recovered two cartridges of an SMG gun at the scene of murder.
“We sound a warning to all those dealing in mobile money business to be security cautious because these mobile money points work as banks and carry out big transactions,” said Ssenkumbi.
He added: “And since many of them are not permanent, attendants move with money yet they close late in the night, thus being targets for the robbers.”
Ssenkumbi said the investigations showed that the deceased had many points of mobile money, and would gather money from all the points before he could go home.
“Furthermore, he was seen counting lost of money in restaurants, an act which is so tempting.”
Kitanda is the fifth mobile money attendant to be killed in Kampala since the year started. The robbers took off with Shs 16 million.
